The Challenge
Leah's independent gym was struggling to attract new members in a saturated Cardiff market. Big chains with slick websites and online joining were pulling people away. Her existing site was a generic Wix template that looked like every other gym — no personality, no sense of what makes Iron Temple different. She needed to stand out and convert visitors into trial sessions, not just look pretty.
What We Cooked Up
A bold, energetic website with class timetables, trainer profiles, membership pricing, and a trial session booking flow. We leaned into the 'no-frills, serious training' vibe — dark theme, heavy typography, real photos of the gym and members. The trial session booking flow cut out the back-and-forth phone calls that Leah said was putting people off.
The Results
Trial session bookings are up 48%. The bounce rate dropped 36% as visitors can now see classes, prices, and book a trial without having to call. Leah says several new members mentioned they joined because the site 'looked legit' and didn't try to hide the prices like the big chains do. Membership is up 22% since launch.
